I'm absolutely thrilled with the Second Ride SR24 conversion kit for my Krause Duo 4/1. The TÜV inspection was completely straightforward, and getting the certificate stamped at the registration office took less than 5 minutes, very pleasant! The only small downside was that the chain supplied was too short. I then bought a 116-link chain, and after that everything fit perfectly. The riding feel completely won me over. I can finally be out and about with my dog, which simply wasn't possible before with the loud combustion engine. Now all you hear is the hum of the chain, and that's a huge gain in comfort and everyday usability. The stated range of 50 km with the 70-km battery is actually closer to about 40 km on country roads, but that just about covers my needs. I'm especially looking forward to the upgrade option with the new MID50 batteries, which promise a significantly higher range. Overall, the kit is a perfect combination of retro charm and modern technology. No more starting problems, no oil mess and no carburettor issues. The quality of the parts is high, and Second Ride's customer service was also very helpful. For anyone who wants to electrically convert their Krause Duo, Simson, or soon other 50cc to 125cc vehicles with a mid-mounted motor, I can only warmly recommend this conversion kit! It would be nice to also have a CarPlay view of the app, or at least widgets (which can now be shown in CarPlay too) to get real-time information, as well as a cruise-control function to cleanly hold a slightly lower speed on longer stretches, which would also be good for range...
