The advancing climate change and its increasingly noticeable effects call for concrete solutions: Second Ride promotes a sustainable transport transition by converting combustion vehicles to electric drive. The majority of the vehicle will continue to be used and CO2 emissions will be reduced by over 50% compared to the production of an electric vehicle. Our aim is to scale up this approach, known as retrofitting, from the circular economy and make it widely applicable. By developing technology, we want to play our part in keeping the planet livable for future generations.

In recent years, we have built up an extremely gifted and talented team of 15 employees. We develop the hardware, software and electronics for our products ourselves and have developed patents for pioneering battery technologies, among other things. The final assembly and quality testing of our products also takes place in Berlin. In the last 3 years, over 800 conversion kits have already left our halls and transformed old 2-strokes into modern electric mopeds!

A SIMSON was the first vehicle of both founders. The mopeds from the former GDR not only impress with their attractive appearance, but also with the possibility of driving 60 km/h with a moped license. At the same time, it is the most produced two-wheeler in Germany with a mid-six-figure number of active mopeds. With Second Ride, we are making these cult mopeds fit for the future – low-maintenance, powerful and locally emission-free – and this is just the beginning of our project!
