60 km/h instead of 45 km/h
Thanks to a GDR special ruling
Europe's fastest e-moped
60 KM/H Street legalEveryone recognises the silhouette. The ride feels new: quiet, calm, electric. The Schwalbe by Second Ride glides where others rattle.
And it's allowed what no new e-scooter is: 60 km/h on a car licence, thanks to its original type approval. New scooters stop at 45 km/h.
Not a retro-look replica, but the original. A genuine GDR Schwalbe, restored by hand and electrified. Now with the new MID50 conversion-kit generation.
On the road: 60 km/h, approved with 5.5 hp (4 kW). Around 50% more than the original combustion engine.
In open mode currently up to 10 hp (7.5 kW) with one battery.
Up to 20 hp with a second battery in parallel operation. The matching mount (side bags or on the rack) is in development and available from autumn 2026.
2 kWh per battery, around 55 km.
If a cell fails, we replace exactly that cell, not the whole battery.
Recuperation: braking recharges the battery via the motor. That brings range back and spares the brakes.
App included, with remaining range and more functions.
The sheet-metal bodywork is restored and freshly painted or powder-coated.
New: rims and wear parts.
Chassis, brakes and all functional systems are carefully overhauled and adjusted.
Many remaining parts are still GDR-original and may show patina. That's part of the character.
The drive module comes with a Geist cylinder configuration and matching side covers, so the Schwalbe's line stays original.
The TÜV modification inspection is included. You only update the papers at your registration office.
Around 2 months.
Shipping by forwarder to your door, or pick-up in Berlin.
1-year warranty on the vehicle and the electric drivetrain.
Weight: around 80 kg, light enough for many rear carriers on a car or camper.
With the small charger your battery is full in around 6 hours, with the fast charger in around 2 hours.
Fine print: Simson and Schwalbe are not brands of Second Ride. The names only describe the intended use of the electric conversion kit. The battery may only be opened by Second Ride; replacing individual cells is likewise done only by us. If you open or modify it yourself, this can cause damage and void the warranty and guarantee. Images of an opened battery are for demonstration only.
