Second Ride e-clutch on Schwalbe

The clutch is back!

Original look, learned muscle memory for pulling the clutch to interrupt the power of the two-stroke engine and lots of feedback about the susceptibility of the rear brake contact on mopeds to errors: 3 good reasons to bring back the clutch lever!

A sensor and corresponding electronics replace the original Bowden cable, while the lever and the general appearance are retained. The hand therefore no longer intuitively “reaches into the void” after installing the conversion kit. This also solves the problem of the conversion kit no longer activating due to a loose contact on the vehicle’s rear brake contact or even a broken rear brake light. The function that can now be reliably controlled via the e-clutch is the emergency shutdown or interruption of engine power. Above all, however, it is another “input channel” for controlling the overall SR system. Its full functionality will become clearer at the beginning of next year…

The e-clutch can be retrofitted to all SR23 and SR24 models; an additional software update is required for the Duo. You can find it here as usual.

By the way, Martin from 2Radgeber has done a review on the charging connection and e-coupling. He also shows how to install both and gives some useful tips. You can find the video on Youtube.
