You don’t want to wait until we have adapted the MID50 conversion kit for your vehicle? If you are able to develop and manufacture sheet metal parts yourself, then you’ve come to the right place.

Open source development:

  • We provide you with 3D models, circuit diagrams and instructions for programming the open source control unit VESC installed in the drive (link coming soon).
  • Together with our
    Discord Community
    you can then share 3D scans of the vehicles, drawings of adapter kits and other developments from the community.

Continue to use original parts:

  • The MID50 conversion kit is designed so that the side covers of mid-engines in the 50-125ccm range can be adapted using adapter plates. These adapter plates are not included in the adapt it yourself kit but must be developed by yourself
  • In the same way, the frame connections are adapted with metal sheets which you have to develop and manufacture yourself.
  • Unfortunately, you will probably not be able to screw your cylinder onto the MID50 drive module without further ado, as the liner will be in the way. If you have a defective cylinder, you can remove the liner mechanically.
  • The drive module is available in three variants, each with different cylinder orientations. If your vehicle has the chain on the left in the direction of travel and the cylinder should be positioned 60° upwards, select -60°. If the chain is on the right and the cylinder should be positioned 60° upwards, select +60°. If the cylinder is to be in line, as is the case with most Honda engines, select 0°. The rotation of the engine can no longer be changed after production.

Battery holder:

  • The kit also comes without a battery holder. However, we will provide you with the brackets we have already designed so that you can use them as a guide (link coming soon).

What you get:

  • The charge level indicator, ignition lock and button are separate components that you can integrate anywhere in your vehicle.
  • All the cables you need to connect the drive module, battery and fittings
  • 1x Bowden cable sensor

Revolutionary battery technology:

  • The 2 kWh 50V battery is built with a revolutionary and patented technology from Second Ride. If a cell should ever be defective, it can be replaced instead of having to replace the entire battery.
  • In addition, the technology enables the best passive cooling performance on the market for removable batteries. This means that charging times of just one hour will be possible in the future and overheating while driving will be virtually impossible.
  • The battery and vehicle can be controlled with the Second Ride app and can now also be updated wirelessly

Road approval:

  • Unlike our model-specific conversion kits, there is no parts certificate for the Adapt it yourself kit.
  • In order to be allowed to ride legally on the road, you must undergo a modification approval according to §21 or §19(2). Your respective inspector will decide which certificates they want to see. The requirements vary greatly, so make sure you talk to your inspector as early as possible before you start the conversion.
  • EMC certificate: The MID50 conversion kit is certified with an EMC certificate in accordance with ECE R10. We will also be happy to provide you with the certificate.

Delivery time:

  • You will be one of the first to receive a MID50 conversion kit. However, due to the production start-up of the completely new product, a little patience is required. From February 2026, we will deliver in the order in which orders are received. For orders from 15.09.2025, the earliest delivery date is from the beginning of April. So it’s worth striking early.
